In my experience with white LED's, you never really know what you are going to get. Some are blueish, some are actually kind of purple, and then most are pretty white. I used to actually take a battery with me (one for a car remote) if I was buying local to test. Your best option is to try again. Next time do your best to keep the packaging as intact as possible and try to test. Hopefully you can return if they are not the right color.

For anyone who is interested. My solution that ended up working was laying down slivers of yellow tint over the white leds. Don't cover them completely because then the light will become completely yellow. But, covering portions of the LED will made the white LEDs less blue.
