I'm hoping this is a simplish fix in that it it is just a bulb

The d4 bulb no longer works , everything else works and it goes through the gears fine, the bulbs all work in the other lights so I'm guess in binnacle out and swap bulb from position 1 to d4?

Yup, I swapped D1/D4 after mine blew out... My D4 was out for so long that it was weird seeing it light up again.

Lol, I'd consider it an upgrade.

Night-time safety, self modification :p

But the bulb, most likely.

well i got to the bulb after finding the clock surround has been out before and badly repaired on the lower attachments grrrrrrr

and to top it all i popped into the local honda dealer on the way to work to get a replacement bulb for position 1 as i moved it to D4 and almost had a heart attack in the store , right there and then - when did Honda become the Harley Davidson of car dealers ?
not in stock and £9.50 + VAT at 20% for a god dam BULB !!!!!! - needless to say i never ordered it , off to a local back street to see if i can find one and a speedo surround LOL

It is, I thought that may be a way, but the only idea I have.

Really, I'd just leave it. If nothing is lit & it's running, you're in D4.

Or a junkyard, and grab a few bulbs to keep as spares.
