ok so i woke up at 7am to get to the exhust shop this mornig. i knew that when i got to my car id hav to connect my intercooler piping to the turbo (i didnt have my tool with me last night so it had to wait til the AM) and i turned the car on and it cranked and idled better than before.

i was sort of scared to drive the car but exctied... anyway, im dring up the street... vroooooooommMMMMM JEE JE JE Jejejej VerrvoooooommmMMMM JE JE JE JE POOOOOOOP!!!!!!

WTF WAS THAT!?!?!?!

i pull over thinking ok, the intercooler piping is off... check it all out, looks good. start the car up again, keep going. now, i notice 2 hthings:

car is makin no power
car isnt blowing off
...****. its the piping.

so i get to the shop and check, and guess what? the u bend from the intercooler to the pipe from the outlet of the turbo had blown off... ok easy fix right??? not with my car.

of course the piping blew clean off and was gone... i must have ran it over or someone else did because it was nowhere to be found. so then i get to the exhaust place and they tell me theyd rather do it in the week and that i shoudl come back on wednseday.

that was it. then my tuner is late. he gets there 45 minutes late, we talk abotu teh piping and how much it sucks, and then both leave.

so now i need to get up at 7am on wednesday to get my car there before class. i gotta tell them how the work needs to be done, leave for class in a taxi then come back later to pick up the car.

what a damn ****ty day. its now 9am and im bored and cant even take my car out because its now N/A.

now i gotta find ****ing intercooler piping. i mean WTF the car drvoe 550 miles on this setup. either the turbo overboosted to 20psi+ which is what i actually physically tested the pipes to (it held 20psi with no pipes blowing off)

the only thing that makes sense is that becasue i assembled the car in the heat of the summer and its now about 40 degrreees, the piping must have contracted and that made it looser. makes sense i guess. well, its off to ebay to spend MORE money on this car. no wonder john calls me Retro$hark...

this sucks.

That definately sucks...

And I hate to say it, but I think every Noob who wants to slap on a turbo and don't know jack about them should read this and think twice about it... Maybe it would change their minds. (I get tired of reading the posts about people who want quick turbo power and don't know anything about it and expect it to bolt on and work perfect)

Anyway, good luck getting everything put back together... I hope you don't go through too much money re-building! ;)

I guess that sucks. I don't know, owning a turbo car for 6 years, these things do happen. Clamps can go bad or weaken if you over tighten them. This happened to me accouple of times, never messed up the pipeing. If it's relatively straight, just use some alumized steal tubing for now.

Does your piping have beads or is it atleast flared and any coupling? If not, get that done or this will keep happening.

Don't drive your car either until you have this fixed. Your turbo will be spinning so fast. You will have no resistance and your wastegate won't see boost either since nothing is being pressurized. You can overspin it and defineatly do some damage.
