defrost problem!

YOu can run the defrost without AC but it won't do anything.
The AC does two things: 1)Cool the air, 2)Remove moisture from the air.
In order for the defrost to work you need dry air from the AC to absorb all the water condensed on the window. Without it, you are just blowing humid air only making things worse.

You can do three things: 1)Recharge the AC 2)Drive with an open window 3) Blast the heat to hopefully heat up the windshield and evaporate the water.

Of an I also heard from a mechanic that when you run the defrost, the AC is never really off even if you turn it off manually. But don't quote me on that.
