ok...so...the other day i got back started on the build....i disconnected the fuel lines and pulled out the rear subframe...then i proceeded to take the gas tank out of the subframe(i will be using a lighter and smaller racing fuel tank)...that thing was pretty heavy...but..i managed to get it out...i think it still had about a half gallon in it....

anyways...after i got the gas tank out...i went and cleaned up the rear subframe as best i could so far...here are some pictures...i just wish there was some way i could make the rear sub frame lighter in general...and still strong...

this is all for now...im still thinking up **** to do..and which direction i need to go next...with the economy being so bad at the current moment i can't make any large expenses...so im trying to do all the labor intensive work now...but also since it's so cold i have to be able to fit 3 cars int he garage...so storage is kinda limited also....so...errr...and brrr...

wow thats insane to see the rear suspension completely out like that......makes it really easy to see how the camber rods, tie rods, and everything else are compiled together systematically onto the subframe.............now to wait and see how you will lighten it up while keeping durability haha

so question, WHAT exactly are the plans for this car, i see you gutted it and taking out major parts but i never actually understood what you had in mind... obv not fuel economy being that you are going witha much smaller race tank..

Danny....wow.......the painted subframe looks fantastic, nice work!

What type of paint did you use for it? I assume something that will prevent any future rusting? Would you bother using clear on it as well?
