Re: DIY-Fog Light Projectors (update 8/21)

They're the projectors from a 2001 toyota celica, im going to fully seal them before install and i'll most likely cut my old headlight lenses to fit over the front of them for protection.

So you say your cutting headlight lenses to protect the projectors? I'm assuming your cutting them to fit the fog light cut out right?

If you could have found a set cheap enough, I would have suggested using the CF4 fogs for this project, but I like the ones you are going with.

No way of using the OEM fog housings and trimming those to work?

I think the OP is mainly concerned with the protection that the lenses will provide the projectors. Fog lenses, especially non-OEM ones tend to break pretty easily from what I've seen, and the custom headlight lens cutouts he's talking about would be much much less likely to break. It would suck to finish this project and then have it all destroyed by a rock on the highway

The CF4 fog light covers would fit well, but it might be a challenge as to how to mount them over the fogs.

Nick, I would also recommend you look in to some 3M film as well.

I put 3m clear covers over my fog lights when I got them 3.5 years ago, and there hasn't been a scratch or crack on them. Still looks mint!

I'll have to look into that stuff in the next day or two.
I finished the install today, but upon final install they came way too friendly with the frame and therefore they have been pushed outward and facing down some so i dont know how well they will perform anymore.
Im going to cut the old headlight lenses tomorrow but i kinda like how they look without it so i may not.

If a rock hits them and they break i wont be too upset since im only maybe 25 bucks into this and i only did it because i was bored and i've had this idea in my head for a while

I'll get night pics in a few hours
