Here lately I added the new air intake and painted the header cover. Funny story on the new air intake. I was cleaning out the box where the old air filter sat. It had a good bit of sand that had accumulated over time. I had my step father hold the top of the box up and as he raised it higher the elbow on the intake tube split:shakehead:. Seeing this great opportunity we hastily went and got a new air intake. The tube was to short to place the new air filter where the box use to sit. My step father not wanting to spend any more money than he had and just said cut it shorter. While at the time I just wanted my car fixed this turned out to be a good thing. Here in up state NY its cold here 7 months out of the year. The winters are really rough and the air is very frigid. If you notice how short and close my air intake is to the engine. This might start to make since. While the air on the outside of the car is frigid, the air under the hood would be warmer. Allowing for a better start up, less warm up time and just right air temp flowing into the manifold. The shortness works to my advantage as well because of the almost no air restriction heading to the manifold. If you got any advice please share and feed back negative or positive is always welcome!

Cooler air is actually better for the motor.

It's cold 3 months out of the year here and I can barely stand it lol.

yeah you want cooler air going through the intake, that's why the oem inlet is in the bumper and pulling from outside.
Cooler air condenses more, hot air expands(ie balloons sinking/deflating when it gets cold or rains) the more air you stuff into your intake, the more power you can get, colder the air the more you can fit, that's how nitrous works, gets the air super cold allowing for more volume to be sucked in.
So if you're looking for better performance you might want to take that into consideration

Dude i dunno who explained to you that logic but you really need to take some science courses at your highschool.

Colder air has more oxygen. Oxygen is extremely combustible. Intake tube length affects your powerband

It has the same oxygen, though not per cubic, that has the same nitrogene too. It's only denser.

the proportions will be the same in cold/hot air, but the concentration of them will be higher due to denser air when it's cold

hot air is better for fuel economy. stock 4 cyl intake is in the engine bay.
