So my transmission is pretty much gone. ugh.

I called this one place in south philly "Discount Transmission" on 16th and passyunk...They gave me a ballpark figure on a rebuilt transmission...$2400 parts and labor.

Does that sound about right? Anyone have any realistic suggestions? I need this car to last about 2 more years.

You should call around some more and wider spread of prices and also ask about their warranties on work that they do... Try AAMCO and places like that

I think I paid a little over 3k to have a re-manufactured one installed in my car, and it came with a 3yr/100k warranty

The $2400 is for a six speed swap, or just to replace the auto? I'm confused.
