after spending money on rebuilds on both cars I've owned, if (god forbid) I ever have tranny problems again in the future I'm just going to go the cheap route and buy a used transmission from a junk yard with low miles.
when I had my pickup, I was quoted like $500 for a tranny with 60k miles, installed. versus $3200 at the Ford dealership for a new tranny, and then $2xxx at Aamco when the one in my Accord went. Could have easily paid for 3 used ones instead

Hes right. But there is a risk with the accord of going through the trouble of installing another bad tranny. Even one with low miles still could be in trouble. When it comes to longevity, I don't really agree with any automatic transmission. They are very complicated, and when one thing isnt right inside, you can feel it as a driver.
Final verdict, if you plan on keeping your car for mods, then you will love a 6 speed swap. The 5speed 4cyl isnt much slower if not faster than ur auto v6 4 speed 0-60. If you were do to a swap, u would be able to utilize all that TQ and hp in the low end, and blow the doors off a lot of cars.
If you dont plan on keeping your car, then now might be a good time to part with your car. I know selling ur 6thgen on here is kinda taboo, but there is no sense in spending all that money on a car when u dont plan on keeping it a while. If it still drives, sell it as is and let someone else deal with it. I was going to sell my car, but I couldnt. I did the swap for about 1760$, but that was for the 4cyl.

I need to hold on to this car for another year and a half if not two years. Even then, i'll probably hand my car down to my little sis and i'll get a new car. Would a rebuilt trans greatly reduce the odds of it getting fcuked up again?

Usually. You have to find a shop that knows what they are doing. If you just rebuild it to the same specs then it will fail again after time. Unfortunately that is what most people do. I would just try and communicate with the mechanic and have him figure out why it went bad and try to prevent it in the future by rebuilding it to exceed its original specs. There is a member on here who has a 4cyl with a rebuild tranny now for 4 years without problems. It just depends on where u go....usually the price matches the quality.

I ran a scan b/c i got a cel. P0740 something like that. TCC Circuit Malfunction. Could the reason I am slipping be a solenoid?

It could be, but personally bro I dont have a clue about that. I know that some people have taken the solenoids off and cleaned them. Only buying them some more time. Things are getting clogged because of the added metals being circulated in ur tranny fluid. If u are serious about trying to save ur tranny. Do a drain and fill until ur fluid is pink. Do not do a flush at a shop. Clean ur solenoids. Install a remote transmission filter. It looks like an oil filter that has an incoming and outgoing line for ur tranny fluid. Your tranny only has a magnet catching all the debris. Adding a filter and cleaning ur fluid might buy u more time. With a bill of over 2g's$ I would try and salvage the existing tranny as much as i could before calling it quits.
