I recently bought a set of ebay projectors from a member on here. I definitely dont have the money/skill for a retro, so I want ya'lls opinion. I was either gonna go with the ebay projectors with 55w DDM 5000K or OEM reflectors with DDM 35w 5000K. I had someone told me that HID bulbs are too long to fit in ebay projectors and some people say that the light output is ****. I really prefer the look of the OEMs better because the Halos make my car look ricey. How are the light output on ebay halos and can it handle the 55w HID or just the 35w. My Accord is a Heather Mist Metallic. I was also thinking about ebay halos but not the blackhoused one. I think blackhoused would look good on dark colored cars, but there are some blackhoused headlights that look good on light colored cars like goldknight02's. Tell me what you think

im in the middle of a retro. its really not that challenging. it just takes time. if you have an hour or so after work every night then you could piece together a nice set in 2 weeks eeeeasy, assuming you have all the parts before you start, and have a good cutting tool such as a dremmel.

what did you hate about them besides the adjusters? Was the light output crap? The only reason I even thought about those is because, I put HIDs on my parents ody, and its in a reflector. THe light is scattered, and I want my Accord to have a cutoff to avoid blinding other drivers.

would you think that 35w even in a projector housing would suffice. I thought that since it was in a projector housing, ebay or not, I could go 55w without blinding the hell outta other drivers. I just wanted to maximize my light output without blinding oncoming traffic. But you're right, I would say no to 55w in reflectors, but many people in my area get away with HIDs in reflectors (Im guilty because I did it to my parents cars). But I just love it when some dumbass shows off by cutting you off and gets blinded by my lights.:action-smiley-042:

the ebay projectors do have the cut off, i only dint like them cuz the adjusters broke so when i tried to even them out, it dint work so one was higher than the other, i think it was jus my luck that they all broke, but even with projectors you can still blind ppl, jus not so bad, cuz i own a tundra now and cars w/ projectors can still blind me by reflecting off my side mirrors, thank god for the rear mirror dimming down....but on that certain angle or distance it still gets u wit the beam, projectors look cooler tho w/ hids haha
im runnin 35w on my tundra rite now and they are reflectors, i dont want projectors, it dont seem to blind ppl cuz mines are angled lower so when im behind another car i notice it dont reflect on their side or rear mirrors unless if i was further away, and it still gives me good visibility, gonna throw 55w on my foglights real soon

I guess what Ill do, is test them with really stron flashlights... If I dont like what I see then Ill just stick with the reflectors. The thing about the Ody is that I put in the H4 bi-xenon and the bi-xenon housing almost wraps the sides of the bulbs so that light is not being reflected to the sides of the road. I think fogs would fix this but Im afraid to screw something up on their van by drilling on the bumpers. BTW, If I install the halos, I would need to take the bumpers off. Is there someway or trick to take the clips off without damaging them, and how many would I need to buy just in case they break in half when I pry them off?

Test them with flashlights? :eh: Are you kidding?

Halogen projector =/= HID projector.

If you can't do the retrofit (Morimoto Mini is fairly easy), HIDs in stock housings would be your best bet.
