BTW, If I install the halos, I would need to take the bumpers off. Is there someway or trick to take the clips off without damaging them, and how many would I need to buy just in case they break in half when I pry them off?

clips?? u mean the plastic studs that hold the bumper on the front? its easy to take off, well i sold my accord so i cant remember exactly but to take the front bumper off there is like 4 or 5 studs i think, on the top of the grille so u pry the middle part off w/ a flat head screwdriver, or a knife, it comes off easy, and there is a bolt on each side of the bumper behind the fenderwell, it connects the bumper to the fender, o yea and dont forget bout the studs that hold the splash shield onto the bumper (sides and the bottom) i cant remember exactly but takin off the front bumper is cake

and the halos, i had them spliced w/ my parking lights

I recently bought a set of ebay projectors from a member on here. I definitely dont have the money/skill for a retro, so I want ya'lls opinion. I was either gonna go with the ebay projectors with 55w DDM 5000K or OEM reflectors with DDM 35w 5000K. I had someone told me that HID bulbs are too long to fit in ebay projectors and some people say that the light output is ****. I really prefer the look of the OEMs better because the Halos make my car look ricey. How are the light output on ebay halos and can it handle the 55w HID or just the 35w. My Accord is a Heather Mist Metallic. I was also thinking about ebay halos but not the blackhoused one. I think blackhoused would look good on dark colored cars, but there are some blackhoused headlights that look good on light colored cars like goldknight02's. Tell me what you think

Not an issue. I have had halos that I bought from ebay for years and they've operated flawlessly with my HID kit for years now. The light output is great and I've never had any issues other than having to adjust the direction of the lights when I first put them in which is not really an issue. You'd have to do it if you switched to any other light. My car is black and the black housing halos look excellent in my car...it'll soon be dark gray and I'll keep the black housing halos in it.

^^ Post cutoff pics for reference.

55w in halogens is a huge no no, the light is scattered a lot more and you get a lot of hotspots where you don't want them.

35w would be better, but I would suggest getting some ebay eyelids if you do, they help with minimizing the glare to other drivers and give you a more defined beam pattern.

Halo projectors might seem good for the money (roughly $150ish new), but most (MOST ;)) of them are built fairly poorly, and with low-quality parts as well. If you like the look, great, but if you are looking for performance, they pale in comparison to almost any retrofit.

There are a few pics of the Morimoto H1 cutoff floating around here, as well as pics of the TSX cutoff. I also have some comparison pics of 35w 6000k HIDS in halogen housings, with and without eyelids. Let me know if you want me to post them up here.

if youre going to buy anything from ebay i suggest you buy the oem style blackhoused headlights (if you're not comfortable doing it yourself)

i suggest that you don't buy the projectors because that is just money that could be put towards a retro that you're wasting, and theyre quite a bit more expensive than the blackhoused ones, IIRC

you don't have to put HIDs in them, even though ive never got flashed by oncoming traffic for my HIDs before I got my retro mounted

good luck

It wasnt really that much of an improvement over halogens because the casper shield blocked most of the light from being reflected to the sides and the high beam was a little weak, because it was just the low beams redirected. I havent tried this but its looks to be a pretty good idea http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/H4-4...6196742?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories Its basically two HIDs bulbs in one capsule, but the only downside is that you would need four ballasts. With the way the ODY is wired you cant have both high and low beams on at the same time, but there is a mod that allows you to have both come on. The poor performance may also be caused by the fogged up lenses but I dont think it will make a huge diff once I clean them. I still like the 4 bulb style like we have on our accords and the new odys.

Thats what I decided to do. Since I bought the halos for cheap, I dont really feel all that bad about it, but I just like the look of the OEMs better. The halos make my car look like an insect with all those round lenses:ohyou: Maybe Ill think about the retro fit later on, when I get those civic fogs

It's all personal preference. Some like the retro look...I've had ebay halos / black housing and HID's since day 1 and it looks good...I've gotten many compliments on them. I've also NEVER had any quality issues ordering anything name brand from ebay.

It's all personal preference.

This is true. Personally I've never been a fan of any aftermarket eBay projectors or ebay altezza-style tail lights.

I've also NEVER had any quality issues ordering anything name brand from ebay.

Then you're one of the lucky few ;)

Do you have any cutoff/output pictures of your projectors? It would be great for future reference, in case others want to see what the output is like before purchasing them.
