hey guys i have an 02 4 cyl Sedan and it has been missing slightly at idle for about 4 months now. I changed the spark plugs, wires, cap, and rotor with all ngk brand stuff and it still misses like before...

My CEL also came on indicating that I had a random cylinder misfire and that my EGR has insufficient flow. I took off my intake and cleaned the EGR port and cleared the codes and now no codes come up.

My main question is, what is still causing this car to miss? Could is possibly be the O2 sensor gone bad?

P.S. im averaging about 20-21 mpg... about 285 once the lights comes on.

Much help appreciated.

definitely check the o2 sensor. after that, try to clean the throttle body with the throttle body cleaner you can get from autozone or pep boys.

I cleaned the TB when i took off the intake manifold to clean out the EGR port. still runs the same.

WHich 02 should i try first though? The one on the exhaust manifold or near the cat?

well, what's your RPM when it's on idle? and when you drive, what's the rpm? is it higher or lower than normal? check the cat one first. those are usually the one i had problems with before.
