my main req. light has been flashing for 10 sec for the past few weeks, and now it stays lit up, but i dont need to change my oil for 1,000 more miles since i use synthetic oil. so does that mean i just have to change my oil and it will go away? or do i have to reset it manually when i change my oil? its too rainy to change oil today

like blacknight's being saying its just a reminder. it's set to come on at certain intervals just to remind you to do a maintenance on your car, it corresponds with what is recommended in your owners manual. it doesn't moniter anything at all and changing your oil or anything else won't affect it, when you take it into the dealer/mechanic he resets it after the work is done to turn it off and that's why it is off when you get it back, but just follow the instructions in the thread to turn it off yourself if its bugging you. (personally, i think its a way for the dealers to make money when women see it and go OMG! and go into the dealership for some sort of service then)
