how many people here actually sent a piston through the bottom of the shock body?
:gtfo::nutkick:

i never said that the piston of a shock would shoot out a shock is designed to be used at a certain height not to be fully compressed - also if it is fully compressed then it has no room to move when a vehicle hits a dip or bump

Can you give us any solid evidence that this is worth buying? Why would you still need them for a GC/Koni setup? If they're so amazing, why isn't everybody and their mother using it?
:ugh::eh:

ok if there such a waste of money then why does koni and ground control mate them with there set ups ?

THIS IS A EXTENDED TOP HAT :

THIS IS WHAT THEY DO:
quoted from KONI/ GROUND CONTROL THEMSELVES
"
*Billet aluminum upper mounts for most Honda Civic and Acura Integra. Relocates shock upward 24mm to allow extra suspension travel.

THIS IS THERE FULL SET UP WITH EXTENDED TOP HATS:

ALL SO BEFORE YOU COME IN MY THREAD TRYING TO MAKE ME LOOK LIKE A DUMBASS OR A IDIOT THAT FELL FOR marketing gimmick DO YOUR RESEARCH:

IF THATS NOT ENOUGH INFO FOR YOU CHECK HONDA-TECH THERE IS OVER 300 PAGES WORTH OF INFORMATION ON EXTENDED TOP HATS

It makes sense, but still too much money for what you get out of it.

AND, drum roll please, spring manufacturers already tell you what you need to do to allow for more suspension travel while being lowered. CUT THE ****ING BUMPSTOPS.

correct me if im wrong but wouldnt this be still kind of pricey?

the ones u linked were for integras and were already for $119 for a pair.....

the demand of aftermarket parts for our accord is scarce compared to integras and civics...

unless ur friend is giving u a real discount i still see it as around an extra $200 at least for extended top hats for our cars

then on top of that ...is he gonna make em universal to fit the shocks like tokico, kyb, koni ...or jus centered towards wat u have which are tokicos...

jus somethin to take into account...im not bashing ur theory or anything....but a spring and shot combo would run you about a good $300-$400 plus extended top hats would jump to at least $500-$600....why not save up the extra couple hundred bucks and get urselves the "ballin" $800 coilovers if this really "doesnt" help the UCA from hitting

ok even if you cut the bump stops and you lower the car alot
then you will be riding on the bump stops like i am right now i have 1/4'' or less of travel in the front due to being lower as i am

well he is working with the stock top hats which have a enough clearance for other brands of shocks
check out the pics and links i posted and you will see were people have made there own for there civic/integras using the stock top hats

and yes he will be making them for a great price
he has made me some for my civic's and integra's for about $75-$100 for all 4 depending if i had cores or not

so they are not that expensive compared to other brands asking $119 for just 2 out of the 4

as the uca's hitting i have seen aftermarket ones that clear the body
also people cut or grinding down the edge so they would clear the body

as for me i dont have a problem with the uca's hitting
you are more than welcom to look up the pics of my car to see how low it is in the front i can hardly make it in my apartment complex with out bottoming out

like I said it sounds like a waste of money. just buy a full coilover set-up and stop being cheap

ok its not a waste of money for the people that already have a set up they like but need a lil bit more suspension travel so they wont bottom out
i am not being cheap i just dont have the funds at the moment to get full coil overs but they are on the list

haha, dont worry, it wont. the only thing that will help that is a custom knuckle.

well i answered that in my last post
