So a few you may know I've been having issues with my tranny with shifting and what not and I took it out today.

This is what I found:

(sorry the pics are huge, but I wanted the detail)

First off, Matt and Jason were right (Badger and AFAccord). The springs in the the clutch disc hub can come out of their housings! This is what that will do to a flywheel:

The outer dark ring is the friction surface, so in my opinion, the flywheel is still okay.

Next is the flywheel side of the clutch disc, worn down to the rivets at 50,000 miles. The pressure plate is also f ucked, but that get's replaced with a new clutch anyways.

Here is the infamous hub springs. 2 right next to each other worked their way free, one was about to come out and cause a lot more trouble.

So, I've got a used OEM clutch I'm gonna put in temporarily so I can drive home tonight...

So it was the clutch disc and not the flywheel? Cause as soon as I saw fidanza I started sh**ing bricks, I just installed a fidanza flywheel. And I don't wanna take this thing apart ever again lol.

I have, er, had a Fidanza 3.2 clutch... that's what failed. The flywheel is a bit chewed up, but okay.

sorry to hear. but you got to move on. get an exedy, i have never seen problems with exedy, but i have never seen cases of fidanzas going bad either.

I honestly think it might be my fault. I never lubed ANYTHING when I first installed it over 2 years and 50,000 miles ago. I'm sure it sat cocked sideways on the input shaft enough times and the imbalance slowly destroyed it or something.

I need to order the $50 Fidanza steel ring for the flywheel and figure out what clutch I'm gonna go with... need something cheap with a stage 3 grab... driving on this OEM one sucks.

That looks terrible, glad it was only your clutch. What are you doing with the tranny you bought? I would just keep it on the side.
