F23a1 destroker turbo. Start to Finish.

Did this build on my car in just a couple weeks time. The car was already f23 turbo before the build. Put down 280hp/340ft lbs of tq before I spun a rod bearing on the stock motor. Then decided to build it. Figured since it was an f23 build you guys might enjoy it.

This will cover the turbo build from a few months a go and then the built motor

How the car started out. Been running a 75shot on the car for a while now before the fun really got started.

Picked up a turbo from my friend Rhett. Powder coated purple of course. Its a t3 duall BB off a 86 ford mustang svo.

Setup my spare engine on the engine stand and started mocking things up.

Started mocking up the 3" downpipe. Piping was donated from my friends 2000ss Camaro's old exhaust. LOL

Using a cheapy flux core welder.

It gets the job done though.

Who needs a/c? lol

Making the dumptube for the wastegate.

Nice coat of vht black to cover everything up.

Picked up a traction bar while I was at it. One and only Hasport traction bar for the accord.
Out with the old.

In with the new.

Clocking the turbo.

I had originally planed to use the intercooler from my old turbo setup. But I think this one fits the build better.

Mocking up the piping. 3" cold side piping and 2.5" hot side piping. Tial 50mm BOV.

Making my oil feed line setup.

Installing my tapped oil pan from my last turbo setup.

Oil return line.

Starting to finish everything up.

FIC 650cc injectors.

Making the exhaust for the car. 3" straight pipe all the way back.

Vht black to finish it up.

How it comes out the back.

Plenty of clearance. Had to raise the car just a little bit to clear the downpipe and exhaust.

All finished up. This is how I've been driving the car for the last few months.

The car is currently broke down. New motor is at the machine shop. Just waiting for it to get finished up. Upgrading everything this time around. Stay tuned.

Been running a 35 shot of nitrous for the fun of it too. All tuned by me of course.

Back under the knife.

Prepping the new motor. File fitting the rings to my new specs.

New engine build sheet:

f23a1 87mm destroker.
h22 crank
eagle rods
mahle pistons. compression comes out to 10:2-1. Perfect.

Balance shaft delete kit
ACT 10lb flywheel
Ported f23 intake
S2000 throttle body
Stock f23a1 head for now

Just playing around.

Finished up for today. Should have the car running Saturday.

Waiting on my clutch to arrive then I'll be dropping it in and firing her up.

Rebuilding my h22 trans and installing lx 5th gear. Had a surprise on the inside I wasn't expecting.

The case was tore up pretty good and one of countershaft bearings was flat spotted.

Luckily I had a spare case in my trunk. So I was able to get the trans back together and stay somewhat on schedule.

ACT stage 3 HD pressure plate with competition stage5 6 puck disc.

Just have a couple things left to attach and add fluids. Hopefully have it up and running tonight and get a tuning session in late tonight. Just in time for the Texas Accord meet on Saturday.

Having fun with the car. Just need to get it up on the dyno and finish tuning it for some numbers. Hope you have enjoyed the thread. That is all.

Looks like a well build F23A, thanks for sharing. Just curious why you chose to build the F23A over the F22b?

Also you have a typo on your first post "Put down 2802hp/340ft lbs of tq before I spun a rod" Lol, I was like damn at first until I saw the TQ.

Oops fixed the typo.lol. No reason why I chose it over anything else. Sold my h22 turbo manifold a while back. So made this since its what I had laying around.
