What kind of slicone would you guys use if you opened up your head lights to clear them out? I also want to clear my tail lights, does anyone know if the tail lights are done the same way? does the amber part come right off? and how does one repair the reflectors mine are ripping.

Just use plain clear RTV silicone and you will be fine. Just make sure you bead a clean line all the way around and allow it to dry.
