Attached are pictures of my front bumper. As you can see, it has oxidation and the paint is peeling off. Also, it has chippings in the paint. Is there a way to fix this, repainting it, or what?

Thanks

I'd say it needs sanded and prepped for a new paintjob. And damage needs fixed if there is any. Lemon will have some good insight for you I'm sure.

Crap paint stock? don't think so lol that was over time + drunken crashing/scrapes.

Is there any bumper covers available, might buy a new bumper cuz painting it will be expensive as a freshmen student

Hey Drami. What you are looking at on your front bumper is pretty much the end stage of clear coat failure. There is no oxidation on the bumper. Oxidation will usually look white, chalky, and no texture look to it but the clear is still intact. The difference between the two is, one can be saved and one can't. The clear failed and is lifting off the surface of the plastic bumper. There is no fixing this besides a full respray.

Chris, your answer is spot on.

Rubbing compound can't fix a defect when there's no paint intact. Btw, I am Lemon.

paint coming off primer, and clear coming of paint...Honda didn't do this, also many of our colors did not use clear from factory.

Just keep in mind that sticking with the original color will always be cheaper, since the place doing it won't have to get all the way in to door jams and those other hard to get, but occasionally visible places.

yeah, budget build?

rattle can it.

Done in a weekend, $50 in rattle-cans (rustoleum recommended), $50 in sand paper, $50 in beer

You spray gloss, you should get a matte look. Start below the door trim, you'll get a hang of it by places you'll see.

I did this car (and a few others)

Ultra-Flat Rustoleum Drab-Green

Yea, the jams were OEM, it looked dumb, but if you go close colors it won't be bad.
