Frozen Subwoofer

No its not whats for dinner....

I've got a Orion 10" dvc that was sitting around for a couple years and now its stuck/frozen and the cone won't move... any idea whats wrong or how to fix it?

frozen must mean that there was some liquid or condensaton on it so i want to say its toast as well... unless there are fuses.. u can always dry it out and see what happens

im pretty sure "frozen" means doesnt move in this thread. idk how easy it is for water to freeze down in orlando.

frozen as in it won't move. its been inside and dry. I read somewhere else that this happens when you drop them. They've been moved around could have been dropped then.

did you try pushing on the backside of the cone and see if it moves out. There is a ring on the backside of the cone that slides in and out of another ring on the voicecoil, maybe with some movement it will slide back in. What happens is that if the cone slips out of that area you can't push on the cone but you can push on it from the back of the cone.

with a little persuasion, it can be moved back into the gap (at least most likely).

I'll give it a shot. I was going to try that and to hook it up with the working one and see if 1000 watts can get it moving.

ahh ok... look its winter uphere so its hard not to realzie... i didnt see location lol
