I will be posting updates to my G23 build in this thread. The first post will have updates, and a detailed outline as to how i went about building the motor. Here is a pic of my progress as of yet, and a list of the parts that I have ordered. Also a link with some G23 info. Following this build: http://570sx.blogspot.com/2010/08/ok-old-beater-nonvtec-g23-has-nearly.html Parts that have been ordered: 13621-P13-A01-Honda PULLEY, TIMING BELT DRIVE $54.62 14400-P13-014-Honda BELT, TIMING (155YU24 A-555) $53.48 12251-P5M-004-Honda GASKET, CYLINDER HEAD (NIPPON LEAKLESS) $56.38 19200-P13-003-Honda WATER PUMP (YAMADA) $68.40 208-4304 ARP Honda H22 A4 Vtec Head Stud Kit $159.39 Feed back and question/comments are welcome. I've never put one of these motors together so advice/dos and don'ts are welcome
Still debating that. Gonna build the motor bare bones at the moment as a proof of concept. If it doesn't work i don't wanna spend too much money. That and i will be able to tune the motor for low comp and share the base map if people want it.
With the H22 head on the F block, the comp ratio goes down to like 8.45:1 (according to the comp ratio calculators). Which would be good for boost. On the other hand i wanna dabble with a high comp all motor build so i can get a little experience with that too. IDK yet what i'm gonna do. For now i just wanna put the G23 together and make sure it runs
I've been considering this myself. I would like the dohc with vtec and all that, but i want the solid bottom end of the f23. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread for sure. Why not dabble a bit with higher compression forced induction? isnt that a little less reliable, but a lot more power opportunity?
Pretty sure ur right. K20 pistons fit in the f block supposedly. I'm following Bolis' G23 build guide. It's the link in the first post. Did you follow pirate mcfred's?
