well if he didn't need a ticket maybe he shouldn't have have been doing 60 in a 40.....

there is no way to fight the ticket, the only thing he can do is to try and keep it off his record, defensive driving, deferred disposition, etc. thats what i did growing up, i've had more tickets than i can remember, most had multiple citations on them, my record and points are clean as a whistle, my insurance has only gone down since i got my license.

he knew he was doing 60 before the limit turned to 60. its his own fault.

I have to do defensive driving, and that will keep it off my record. And 130 bucks is cheaper than 160 and raised insurance.

Ive had 5 speeding tickets. One was bs, I saw the cop from about 1800 feet and went by at the 40mph limit, only to see blue lights behind me a short time later.. said I was doing 54. I was young driving a bright red eclipse at the time. I fought it and still got a $180 fine. All others I was speeding. I just had enough and grew up no ticks in 6 years.

All I know is you better show up on your court dates. I got a seatbelt ticket and didnt pay cause I went to texas for a couple of months, so I forgot about it, came back to Cali and ended up being $700. I have to see the judge on March 19, hopefully he'll lower it.

Most def. and try to watch your speed. I have had well over 12 tickets and am finally going to get my license back in 2 weeks after a 5 year suspension because i was an idiot when i was 16-20. I do have a work permit and am really looking forward to getting my license back. I have spent well over 20,000 on lawyers, fines, tickets, etc. I am not one to say that i never speed, but i have def. grown up. Hope it gets dropped off your record. Insurance is no joke when your under 25...I'm 26 and mine is 300 a month for my Fing accord so that's what can happen if you F up like i did...high risk insurance isn't cheap.

lol tickets are nothinggg. ive had a couple, and ur younge you are bound to get another one eventually. just make sure you take care of it, pay, traffic school whatever. a lot worse can happen if u let the ticket sit around.

Exactly. The court is fairly understanding, I've been to court 3 times out of the 6 when I felt the ticket wasn't justified and got them all reduced. One prosecutor changed a speeding ticket to "Public Nuisance on a Roadway" which is a non-moving violation, due to a previous agreement with a different prosecutor that I would not get another moving violation in 12 months.

I don't drive stupid and I don't race people or anything like that, the majority of my tickets were just kind of a "in the wrong place at the wrong time" kind of situation where I would be the one tagged going over the limit, but traffic speed out of a group of cars or I'd be the one who went over the speed limit to change lanes and pass somebody who was going UNDER the minimum limit.

Change your habits and you won't get tickets. I don't even drive in the fast lane anymore and it's worked. My only recent ones were just human errors and I'm going to court this week for it (no front plate & turning left on a red that I thought was a one way to a one way)

sometimes when someone is on the phone, they won't notice how fast OR slow they are going. it happens. nevertheless, speeding is speeding. when i went to fight for my ticket, i accepted my fault for speeding but hoping the judge won't put that ticket on my record. so far, i have 2 tickets that isn't on my record. and i received my first ticket when i was 20 yr. old. i was hoping i won't get one until AFTER 21. :furious:

you got a ticket from Texas but you were charged in Cali? i don't get it. from what i understand, if you get a ticket from Texas, you have to go to court and pay for the ticket in Texas, not Cali.

from what i heard, if you don't come back to Texas for 5+ years (i believe) and not get pulled over by a Texas cop, the ticket won't affect you because Texas police wouldn't their time to drive to Cali to arrest you. someone correct me on this.
