OK, my H22 swap is completely done, engine works great (from a 98 Prelude), presently working on the original Accord ECU (PAA) ODB2 and no CEL. However car doesn't pull as much as I tought it would, therefore I suspect I need a tune for everything to work like butter.

I figured I have 2 solutions
#1 Convert from OBD2B to ODB2A and run with the P5M from the prelude
I'm ok with the immobiliser I have the key that goes with the ECU
#2 Convert from OBD2B to OBD1 and buy a chipped P28.

also If I switch to ODB1 does this mean I would not be able to use a ODB2 scan tool to show different car realtime information, I use Torque for Android.

any input is greatly apreciated.

the motor isnt pulling hard is because you have a f23 ecu in there, and at that is an auto. the ecu has different maps compared to the P5M. Vtec crossover point is different, redline in lower. theres a bunch of differences. i dont know all the details on ECUs but i know the h swap is never gonna pull like it should on a f23 ecu.

if i were you convert to obd1 and get a p28 thats running chrome or neptune. or convert to obd1 and run a P13 (stock obd1 h22 ecu)

and yes if you convert you cant use your obd2 scan tool.

Thanks that's what I was leaning towards. I think I'll go the chipped P28 route. Conversion harnesses are pretty inexpensive and some ebayers credit core ecus if you send them back yours ( and I have 2)

too bad about not being able to use a blutooth or wifi OBD2 reader. I really liked the fact I would be able to monitor a whole bunch of gauges without actually having to add physical gauges (which are expensive). I'm wondering if I could keep the PAA ecu but only to get the OBD2 signals for the reader, like keeping it for input only not to actually run anything on the car itself: ie reader only.

will I need to change anything else if I switch to ODB1 (P28 with H22 basemap), I bought the wiring harness to convert from ODB2B to OBD1 but what about injectors, will the stock injectors from the 98 Prelude H22 (OBD2A) work with the P28 ?

No you will not have to worry about that. All you're doing is making the obd2 wire harness plug into a obd1 ecu.

So let me get this straight, I just received the P28 (with the H22 basemap) once I receive the harness it's basivally just plug and play ? that's a first : )

FYI I have done some research and I might try and piggyback the OBD2B PAA ecu just to monitor things like,: intake temperature, engine temperature, coolant temperature... things like that. I've read about people do a dual ecu set-up to run their transmission properly, I listed all the leads from the OBD2B wiring harness and flagged those that are sensors. I'll try the easiest ones first (like temperature for instance) I just need to figure out exactly which wire supply's power to the ECu itself and I'll be all set.

btw thanks for all your help !
