Or would it easier to get a obd2 ecu so that way i dont have to worry about inspection. Just still dont know which is a good obd 2 ecu to run

If you need to worry about emissions you'll need either a usdm obd2 p13 (very rare and expensive) or a 97-01 manual ecu. Can't remember the ecu code, but you'll need to get the immobilizer bypassed. And don't forget to add any usdm emissions parts to make it pass. It'll be best to keep the p28 and tune it for top performance, but I don't know if you have to deal with emissions.

Oh and either way, there's no escaping the iac conversion. Everything mentioned above relies on a 2 wire. You can get creative with an adapter plate, but it's less of a headache to simply swap the plenum with one from any year h22. Then get the valve, a pigtail, wire it up and hide the leftover wire.

So i got the h22 intake plenum and it looks a little different. The h23 has 3 hoses coming out of the iac and the h22 has 2. The h23 has an air tempature sensor and the h22 doesnt. is there any modification i need to do?

Im thinking about just getting the adapter plate for the iac. It sounds like less of a headache. But if theres anyone that has swapped the plenums before id appreciate the help

Alright so i installed the adapter plate and a h22 2 wire iacv. I got rid of the code but now my cars idling different. Now it goes to 3000 rpms and drops. Is there anything else i have to do besides swap the iac. Do i have to swap any pins on the ecu connectors?

Can I see a picture of the adapter plate? I wasn't able to find a single adapter plate for a front mount iacv, only rear mounted ones which are a little different. But that was 2 years ago, maybe things changed. Anyways, did you make sure it made a proper seal? Maybe a little air is escaping past the gasket, assuming the plate even has a gasket. It's also possible that you wired up the connector wrong. I really wish I remembered exactly which wire went where or at least saved a picture of the conversion.. I'm leaning more towards the air leak, even though revving up to 3k is really extreme
