Hello all! So this first happened a few months ago, but has recently started happening with greater frequency. Basically what happens is that randomly under braking, or when i'm coasting to a stop, the engine will cut out, and i lose power steering. This has never happened while my foot is on the gas pedal. The speakers still work, and i'm able to put on my blinkers. The car starts right up as if nothing happened once i get stopped. Any idea what the issue could be?

I'd look at IACV or vacuum leak.

sounds like the ECU is unable to get the idle control right.

james: I'll look into it, thanks!
aggin: It turns off pretty quickly, it sounds just like if i were to take the key out and turn it off normally. The check engine light has never come on, so i hadn't gone to get codes checked.

Maybe, although i never have an issue starting the car. Would the ignition switch still be doing anything once i'm actually driving?

Well i'll be damned, that actually sounds pretty similar to my issue. I'll definitely check it out. Thanks for the advice and help!
