use propane to help find the vacuum leak, works great you just let the car idle and use a propane torch WITHOUT LIGHTING THE FLAME and if you have a vacuum leak when it sucks in the propane the car's idle will change significantly.

Classic vacuum leak. As for swapping out the engine for a blown headgasket, I did the same thing and got a new motor too.

Well an update just got back from a mini vacation with the misses, got a new cel code now P0505 which is Idle Control System Malfunction.

I did take it back to the shop, but before I did i took the car to autozone to see what code came up which was P0505 now. So the shop now says well u can just clean those areas & replace the gaskets urself or your ecu is messed up. (the latter i dont believe)

I've already took off the throttle body n cleaned it going to get a new gasket & was about to clean the idle control valve & replace that gasket too except the 2 screws arent budging but im going to give it another shot tomorrow. I figure I might as well clean that too since I have everything disassembled in the area . Anyone have any other suggestions ?

Cean the IACV

will do soon as i get those damn screws to budge im trying not apply so much force though. I should spray a very small amount of wd40 i guess.

wish i wouldve kept my old block and just switch everything off that one to this block saved time, money & headache
