i'll try some of these suggestions when i can , and update. as far as compound, what should i be looking for. i have some meguires polishing compound, but i'm wondering if i want something more aggressive like a rubbing compound. (sorry if its a dumb question, i;m a novice at this type of detail work)
Generally you want to use something that is pretty abrasive. Just be careful when using it as since this is more powerful it can damage the paint. I have Meguiar's Ultimate Compound and I've used it by hand. The adhesive from the emblems comes off but I need to use a DA or Orbital which is what most other people would suggest. Good luck!

no luck after claybar or compund. i did the compound by hand, but i don't think power would help any, not much changed. I think this is what happens after a decade of weather

Wow, worse than they looked. What'd you use?

Buffing compound (white) or rubbing compound (red).

Oh, can you feel a bump? Sometimes you gotta use fingernail. Up toward logo = crap to remove, down towards logo = no clear coat there :(

No it won't go away. I still have ghosting from my pin stripes and emblems that I removed years ago

well, buffing compound is the most aggressive compound I would use, rubbing removes more, like sand paper, 400 grit vs 800 grit. The reason I did have rubbing was a SEVERELY oxidized white (1G CRX) and it did remove it...with about 1/2 the paint...enough stayed there, but it was BADLY scored so bad it may as well have been flat (instead of gloss).

At your own risk...
