Hello all,
I am new here, so I hope this is in the right forum....

I have a 2001 Accord EX DOHC VTEC
When the car is off, I hear a buzzing coming from the rear drivers side.

Like I will come home and be out side 2 hours later and hear a faint buzz that lasts about 5-10 seconds, then it goes away. Only happens when the car isnt running and no keys are in or anything. I was going to take it to the dealer, but they want 80 bucks just to look at it. It has been happening for about a year now, no problems with the car...its strange, like it comes from around the trunk, rear wheel area.
Anyone heard of this, or encountered it before?
Thanks!:andy:

Ive heard this buzz on mine also a few times. Since it comes from the rear I THINK it has to do with some type of pressure release from the fuel tank or something like that. Believe it or not, the first time I noticed was once when I had to sleep on my car, and the buzzing kept waking me up all the time.

dohc, really?

as for the buzz, might be something to do with the fuel delivery system, since thats the only thing at the back of the car that would make any noise....that i can think of anyway.

Think it is something I should worry about? I haven't had any problems with the pump or anything that I know of.

DOHC...is that bad? I'm new to imports as well, I have had old american cars all my life.

lol, no man, your cars not DOHC. its SOHC. h22 and h23's are motors that are DOHC and are swappable into our cars. your car is probably 100% stock, so its either got the variation of the f23 (sohc 4 cylinder) or j30 (sohc v6)

fuel pump problem? it sounds like a little buzzing sound when you put in ur key. Maybe there is a short somewhere. Try disconnecting your battery and listen for the sound. If u still hear it, then U know its not an electrical problem.

You too I thought I was losing my mind. Phew! Kinda sounds like one of those "Cow Cans" right? You know the ones that you turn over and it makes a faint "moo"
