No, I got a bung welded into my test pipe and used a spark plug non-fouler over my o2 sensor.

I just installed a test pipe from Ebay this morning. It has the bung for the O2 sensor. I didn't notice any power loss, in fact I feel more power at higher rpms. I have a stock exhaust system minus the headers and I don't think it made the car any louder than it was before. I am very happy with it so far.

you just think you feel more power. in reality its probably slower since you killed some backpressure.
