That's actually doable. Even at that price, it's cutting it close but I can finance them through selling off some misc audio gear. I just need this album to come out, lol, I am making like $600-1000 per month right now. No rent though so not as terrible as it sounds.

Cool man. No rent is a big saver, and big props to you for following your dream. I remember your thread about whether you should pursue it or not, and I thought you did but didn't know how it was going. I'm happy for ya, afterall we spend alot of our lives working. :)

As long as you get a 35W kit, you should be fine. If your not comfortable with HID's and can't afford a retro, you could always get those Halogen extra brightness bulbs. I believe they're a slight upgrade over the OEM ones.

I decided to try the DDM 35w kit with 5000k bulbs since it was cheap and won't be around for much longer. I may try the H1 retro down the road but for now, hopefully this will do.

darn i got the 55w ones from ddm...hope i get no issues. i thought the 35w were for the fogs. (noob move)

i got 55 watt 8000k slim ballast from ddm and theres no issue. they just reccomend 35 watt for foglights due to the extreme heat the 55 watt gives off.

I got to say, this was the easiest mod EVER. Took me like 15 min, taking my time. About as hard as swapping a shift knob.

I aimed my headlights about 3.5 in lower than the headlight center point. This is with the extra glare. They were about the same interms of what I could see in my immediate vision but I could see anything reflective (signs and such) way more quickly.

I then raised them up, I am guessing about 1 in. Huge improvement, almost as good as having my brights on. I had someone verify I wasn't blinding them and just drove around for awhile. The main thing I noticed when I was driving is how many people have horribly aimed lights. Even if mine are a bit high, I found that more than half the cars on the road that were not new had issues. Never paid that much attention before.

Good job on just doing it lolz :p. Any pics on how high/low you aimed them facing a wall. I want to compare them with what i have mine on lolz

I don't have a camera at the moment but I basically went by how to aim the lights in the service manual:

Park 25 feet from a wall on a flat surface. Measure from the ground to center of headlights. Top of light output should be 2.1 in lower than center of headlight (I went 4in at first with the HID's, now I am probably 2.5 in below the center of the light).

I did it in a parking garage as it was the easiest place around to find flat ground and a wall.
