alright so I was driving In the snow and could not see anything on the road. Next thing I know I hit a pot hole. I hear a loud snap and feel my passenger side tire dragging. I slide into a snow bank on the side of the road. Now I got out and looked the bottom ball joint snapped. The axel is gone. The the fender is bent to hell. Now I'm trying to shop for a new axel. Already have the ball joint. Now before I throw more money at it. Anything else I should look for? I'm worried maybe the steering rack messed up. I don't know it's dark 1250am right now and this happened about 2-3hrs ago. Just got home.

1) Now my questions are what should I look for in the morning.
2) Is there a difference between auto and 5 speed axels. I see them on rockauto but don't know the difference.

Yes, the axles are different. longer for 5 spd I believe. As for your steering rack, I'd put the car on stands and give a thorough visual inspection, replace axle and ball joint and go from there.

In need of anything else big?

Go back to the pothole, take a picture, and file a complaint with the city. You may get some money for repairs.

i cant right now its covered with snow. the cop couldnt even find it since plows came and covered everything.

Edit: about the axle part, it seems the passanger side axle is the same for auto and manual. its the driver side thats different. can someone confirm this before i buy it.

This is right actually. Sorry about the previous misinformation. Hope I didn't set ya back.

Sweet thanks Jordan! And James don't worry bro. I'm going to get it tomorrow so I was being careful as I didn't want to get the wrong part.
