Just for people who are not understanding why this is...The shock is threaded like that and adjusted like that so you can change the ride height without changing the spring rate. The top collar is to adjust how stiff or soft you want your car, the bottom mount is to set ride height. That's why you don't mess with the top collar (A) in the picture for ride height. It changes ride height but you don't want to adjust your ride height off it.
its also not to be adjusted so that you get a good ride quality out of the coilover. lowering the spring puts more constant pressure inside the shock which causes it to ride harder, and also not last as long. my ksports ride awesome for how low my car is. if i was this low on one of my old coilover sleeve/shock combos, it would ride like ***, haha.
