I've seen all the topics about how many miles on your car or engine and stuff, sure Honda makes great engines and most have no problems at all during the life of the car. Maybe some 2.3L's with blown head gaskets, but no topic really focused around probably the most problematic major part in at least the V6's, the automatic transmission.
I have a 2000 EX V6 auto and I'm trying everything I can to make this thing last as long as possible, especially the transmission since it is the second most expensive thing in the car, and quite frankly very essential to make the car function and driveable.
I'm wondering who has had their's replaceded or rebuilt, how many miles, what prevenitive maintenice was done and stuff like that. Or if you're still on your original.
With me, I'm on the original trans at 75k miles, changed the fluid every 30k miles with Valvoline full synthetic Multi-Vehicle Import and about 5k miles ago I installed an inline magnefine filter. My driving is usually very conservative but of course once in a while I can't resist the occasional WOT runs and smokey burnouts thanks to Honda putting such a powerful engine for this car. Even though I want to save the trans, I also need my share of full throttle driving to keep me content.
