how often do you redline?

well i drive a good 5-7 minutes nice and slow till i get outa my community and hit the highway so my car warmed up by then. then on the way to school sometimes i'll redline or get within 800rpm or so(i usually push my car atleast once a day)... is it that bad for our cars? and i frequently WOTwhen merging and stuff, but i need to in those situations. am i killin my car or can it take it?

you guys with the av6 redline? are you "shifting" it 1-2-d3-d4? mine doesnt do that even when i wot it from a dead stop. only time that happened was when my tranny was close to dying and was slipping when it changed gears
