why spend a few grand on trying to make the Honda into something it's not. you can use a few grand as a down on a nice Acura, a nice used Lexus, or something else.

honestly, and this is only my personal opinion and advice, this is a dumb idea. if you are doing this for the sole purpose of making the Accord into a luxury car, this is a waste of time.

on the other hand, if you are doing this for show-car purposes, by all means. do and spend as you need.

but your justification for the spending, i think is pointless. that is only my opinion. sleep on that.

other than that, good luck on the project, and keep us updated. post some before and after pics.

It's a little late to be saying that. :p

Basically everything is paid for and i'm just waiting to recieve things. The main reason we aren't getting a Lexus/etc now is because we didn't want to spend 500 a month on one. The one we really wanted was a 2002-2003 or so GS300, and most of those are around 20k.

The other big reason is that hte Accord was in an accident a few months back and we would be hard pressed to get close to what it's worth. The accident wasn't bad at all and thankfully was in the back, so the 40k engine was untouched.
We considered trading in my other car, a 2001 Neon R/T but the highest quote we got was 4,500 and that still wouldn't have paid the loan off.

I also have one year of school left till i graduate so we figure we can make the Accord really nice until i get a decent paying job in 2008. Anyways, suggestions for more luxuryness are always appreciated..

Oh, in other good news, I found out the brand new leather i bought was actually Katzkin and it only cost me 330 shipped. :)

Obviously a luxery car will be better than an accord. That's not to say you can't make an accord nicer. Your accord will never be a luxury car. But you can make it classy. I think interior wise, the only things that are really going to look better is leather, maybe navagation if you please. White leds too ;), lol. I'd just make the exterior look classier. Du3ce and accordian's cars are great examples of classy looking accords. I really wouldn't focus on the interor if the outside looks like an econmony based sedan.

Economy based? u know it! :) That's to keep the thieves away. :)

I do have SE rims on the way though.. :)

The upgrades are more for my wife than for me. She could care less about the exterior. When i told her i was getting new rims she didn't care, but when i told her about teh leather/sunroof/navi she went nuts, go figure. :)

And, when i get my job and we get the Lexus, i'll be driving the Accord and my police car. :)

i thought the back one wasn't too bad, i wasn't sure about the front one though. I do think sidemarkers will add a nice touch, i just have to find some i like. I don't want any that protrude out too much, but some like the BMW 7-series.

Oh, and should i get black tint or chrome? I wouldn't go with anything illegal so the chrome won't be ultra reflective, i was thinking more of the really subtle chrome..

Any mirror tint?

What about shaving the side moldings? Anyone have a good link for that?
