ice+no abs=guardrail

so about 2:45 on sunday i was coming back from best buy a little after it started snowing here in md. as i was going down and around a turn on my friends road, my brakes locked going over a crest. immediately after the crest is a turn, not enough time to get traction and turn meaning i got to be real good friends with the guardrail. now i need a new front bumper, rear bumper, left headlight, left front corner panel and all the little brackets underneath my headlight.

it amounts to that there was ice on the road for about 2 hrs and roads department hadn't even put plow/salt trucks on the shoulders of the roads let alone salt the icy parts of the roads. as of an hour ago that road still had not been plowed or salted.

to those of you i have pm'ed about headlights if you want to sell them before i get back to you its fine because i can always get them from ebay or another member.

also if anybody has any of those parts, which i doubt on some parts, in silver pm me or post here.

im gonna go outta pocket to keep the premium down the up side is that i work at fedex so it wouldnt be as bad as if i was working only at the texas roadhouse

thanks to those above and thanks to those who post after this because as i said before its all out of pocket

i may wind up buying the body parts and spraying them with cheap paint until i can get the whole car done because when my parents got a dent pulled and sprayed it didnt match so why not do the whole car 1)after winter 2)fix the nicks and scratches and 3) make it match.

Yeah im in MD also as you know. I went out with my parents to office depot on 70 when it first started to snow, everything was fine coming in. When we left the store and got out onto 70 it looked like the world was coming to an end. People where all over the road, on the sholder, in the median, fire trucks and ambulance and police cars everywhere. We must have seen 10 accident all within the same mile. It was rediculous.

i was coming up 270 to 70 at about 2:15 and between urbana and frederick there were 4 accidents, an xterra hit a guradrail and into a ditch right after urbana, a 4runner spun around in the median from 270 south, a liberty the same way .5 mi closer to frederick, and a tahoe spun around at the buckeystown exit. there were also 2 accidents going over the mountain to hagerstown, at the top of the first mountain outside frederick a cobalt and a crew cab f150 off the road and in front of the rest stop at the top of south mounatin there was a cherokee spun around in the right lane/shoulder abandoned. the 4runner, liberty and f150 all had wheels that were bent under.
