I think I can do it.
There's Antietam Battlefield a little to the west, obviously there's DC. I'm in Hagerstown, near Antietam Battlefield, the meet is more around Frederick. I can tell you the few things to do around here which is about 40-50min the meet. 98AV6 can tell you about things to do around Frederick better. There are a few historical places around here but that's pretty much our area unless we go down to Baltimore or DC. Then the problem I have with both of them is after nightfall I don't like being there. The other is parking is a B****.
Yeah, there's supposedly more to do if you live around bigger cities or tourist attractions, but there really isn't. People like us, car enthusiasts end up doing a lot of the same, gathering, showing, talking and then finally getting run off by the Po Po.
I would love to help you out too, but there is no way I could be there that early from CT. I would have to leave at like 3am. I did that for the big meet and June and didn't have as good a time a I should have because I was so tired.
I posted a link to this on SVTPerformance, DTMPower, Subaru Outback and NASIOC.
