ION headlights

I've had 8000k's in them before and the lighting still sucked. Our HL's were not designed for HID's and the ION lenses don't help any either.

Right, that's why some of us choose to retrofit our headlights and actually have decent lighting output. Stock bulbs, or any type of reflector bulbs suck in general...doesn't matter if they're halogen or xenon.
