Is this an okay setup?

Hey! I would personally recommend getting componets in the front. they may be a little more on the expensive side but the sound is better(I have components in the front.) In the back I have 3-way 6x9 but plan changing that to 6.5 midrange speakers cause it pulls the soundstage to the rear. I'll be more happy to lend more advice but it depends on what kind of system you are trying to build. I have built and rebuilt my system to many times and read up on sound systems not to know a lil' bit...........................................................try this site(http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/) I have bought anything from the site yet but plan on buying something cheap to see what happens)

Thanks.

But like I said I'm going to stay away from components due to the tweeters, I don't wan to custom mount anything. I chose the Polks because they will be a directly-fit shallow mount and have pretty crisp mids and highs. I'm not looking for a killer or overpowering system, just something with adequate SQ and some solid bump.

For my plans, does 2-way or 3-way or 4-way really even matter? What do they do differently?

thay actually do matter and i have noticed it myself. you can get componets and have the tweeter in the factory location on the dash. but if you decide to just stay with the regular speakers get 3-ways in the front and 2-ways in the back that way a majority of the detail come from up front. please dont think im pushing you a certain direction just want you to have as much info possible before you buy..............i heard polks sound beatiful but to bring it out you have to run it with an amp. i dont know how true it is but i have heard it twice from creditable sources because when i first got my car i was gonna go with polks first!

Well then I should be all set with the Polks run off the amp

Justin, do your Boston's have some decent lows? I'm looking at the S65RC and it seems like they are good speakers but low on bass.

some components let you mount the tweeter to the mid like mb quarts. too bad theyre huge to begin with...thats why theyre not in the car :lawl:

my shallow mount infinity coax's sound like ****. but they fit without mods, and were free.

Another option for the 6x9's is to go with a set of Kicker KS6930... since i should be all set with the good highs up front, i know kickers thump pretty good. they won't give me a muddy sound will they? ($90) Reviews seem favorable.

I'm afraid my one 12" and low-power amp wouldnt be enough without rear speakers. If I was going with really high end stuff, maybe I'd do away with them but that's not the case.
