Within the last 30 days so many things had gone wrong with my car that I just wanted to vent here:

- Starting on August 7 I had to get a new starter and I had no options other than get to the dealer and they reamed me for $507

- Then I found out I had to replace the engine knock sensor cause the CEL was on $160

- After that my subframe had a minor crack and had to get it welded cause the front Neuspeed sway bar put too much pressure on it. $300

- Then my transmission threw the dreaded code PO740 so I had to get my transmission rebuilt and got new OEM transmission mounts $1370

- Got some used tires and rims $150

- Had to get the hid bulbs replaced cheap $15

- Now my radiator has a leak
- I also have a CEL calling for a new catalytic converter

I know the new OEM cat is like $1000 and since im in cali can't being using the Magnaflow stuff. I got a quote for an aftermarket catalytic converter CARB approved for around $300.

Anyway I hope this is it for this year, otherwise I better off donate this car to Car For Causes and get a tax write off.

ebay for the cat. shouldnt cost you over $120

most cat on ebay are only 49 states legal. I haven't been able to find someting that has the CARB approval for Cali. If you see something let me know. I asked the sellers and according to CA new law they wont even ship it to a Cali address :(

yeah living in california sucks, everything emissions related has to be CARB certified. all intakes, headers, exhaust gotta have the CARB sticker or its illegal.

sorry all this stuff is happening at once, perhaps its a sign... jk

That sucks man.

This seems weird though. I feel like they were just trying to hustle you for money. Not saying they were I've just never heard of it happening.

This happened first on the right side and it was making noise on bumpy roads. Then I got it welded at a family friend body shop. Most shop wanted $600+ or they wanted to sell a whole new subframe because it is "illegal" do weld what i was asking. Anyway so the left side eventually went bad so I went back to the same family friend body shop. I could not get any shop in Southern California to want to touch my subframe other than to replace the whole thing for $1500.
