Never just tighten the bolts till "they are tight"...there is a torque specification for a reason. When they are all torqued properly, you will get the right seal. Get yourself a torque wrench, it'll come in handy for other jobs as well.

i just bought obx headers too. anyone have an idea how to extend the wires for when i install them? its my first time doing anything like this, so i have no clue. thanks

~bump

alright well i kinda figured out how to extend the wire, so basically i have to cut it and then get a new wire in there to make it longer and twist em together and then wrap it up for each of the three wires? but can i just use any wiring i want or do i need some sort of specific wire/metal? thanks

Not too sure on accords, but I had the same prob on my civic with the O2 sensor wires coming up short, I just took a blade and cut the electric tape/ wire loom that held it so I had enough slack. It worked without cutting wires. Like I said, I don't know about the accords, but will be finding out soon as I'll be ordering parts.

i installed the header a few weeks back. so if your o2 bung is too low and just before the cat you can try what i did. i just spliced the existing wires and matched the same gauge wire (using an old GTI harness, LOL i bastardised my accord with german tech.) and extended it about 30 inches, soldered em together etc. Use shrink tubing to wrap it up afterwards as i heard electrical tape turns crusty and doesn't hold up so great after a while.
My other option was to cut apart the harness and get the wire out of the clips to reroute the o2 sensor through to the back of the engine and down to reach the bung, but be warned i woudlnt try this cuz all the wires reach this insanely complicated junction and are all bunched up together so i decided to go with the splicing method... turned out to be a lot easier imo. anyways good luck man.

Your header doesn't have an o2 bung on one of the runners? That bottom spot is more reserved for a wide band.

seems like a lot of em dont for some reason. my primary o2 sensor bung was right before the flex in the down pipe.

i was wondering why they put it so low, what does it mean that the bottom spot is more reserved for a wide band?
