I just got a 6th gen Accord recently and I was wondering if anyone has tried to install some sort of lighting such as a LED light in that center compartment behind the shifter and beneath the radio. I was driving around at night and I threw my phone into that area along with a bunch of crap and I found myself having a hard time finding my phone in the dark. So if anyone has installed some sort of lighting there that's hooked uped to say the head lights or somesort, could you please post some pictures of how it would look and if possible a tutorial as to how to do this? Thanks.

Actually, isn't that for the dome light? I was talking about installing some sort of lighting to that center compartment alone, so whenever I'm driving in the dark and have my headlights on, that center compartment would be light up the whole time. Thanks

^ kinda like a mood lighting sort of deal like the minis have?

hell anything can be done but i dont think anyone here has done that.... shouldn't be too hard to make a few hole and mount a few led's and wire them up to a switch or something

I'm planning on putting a few 4 Chip Superflux LEDs but actually the dome lights seem better because you can just cut the connector off the end and they usually come with like 3M on the back so you can just stick it to the piece below the center console. If you look up 3175 SMT LED on ebay motors they've got some nice ones from V-LEDs (3175 because thats what the bulb in the dome is).

The kit comes with several adapters so you can pretty much put it ANYWHERE in the car where there is a socket, could even hardwire it.

I know what you're talking about. Do what I do, just buy a cigarette lighter powered Map Light and turn it on at night, and have the light pointed towards that compartment.

I had blue footwell lights installed, similar to the newer civics and ford focus.

I matched it with the blue map light to light up that compartment.

and you're right, if you throw stuff in there w/o a light, it gets lost in the dark hole.

That's quite a good idea. Thanks! Yeah all the crap I throw in there can't be found when driving in the dark.
