I think sometimes ppl shouldn't cheap out on those kind of things like intake, just get a brand name a good one, because if it doesn't work well and the filter doesn't do its job, all dust goes into your engine... that's bad....

Well you can't say you weren't warned. It's not really surprising. I've seen worse happen lol you got REAL lucky. As for LeeAnn I'd think twice about that new intake you just got. You guys should look into the TASpro Hybrid setup...

I've never had an intake on my car. Been holding out for the right one I guess. Thought about the DIY route but decided not too cause I'd like to retain a semi-stockish look. Ever since that TASauto hybrid system came out I've been dying to see one for the v6, really like the looks of it. Seems like it makes more sense than a CAI or SRI to me.

look at what my ebay intake did after like a couple months of use

hole.jpg

i ended up cutting it and making it an SRI, im to lazy to invest in a better one

the reason why i dont invest in a "BRAND" intake is because there is not much difference in function that the cheap ones do as compared to the expensive ones... a $24 conefilter DIY setup has the same gains as a $200 AEM or Injen so i rather save my money...

the only intake i would consider getting is the PowerChamber intake but on our motors, not really worth it...

Darryl, the Taspro intake is actually fantastic. I've had it installed on my car for about 3 weeks now and I love it. I have a modded stock airbox and so it sounds good when I want it to but it is also secured properly in the stock location.

I just wish they made it for the v6. I love how it looks and it just makes so much more sense over a CAI or SRI to me.. less heat soak, a lot less chance of hydro locking, stock mount & looks damn near OEM.
