My Soundstream Pcx2.540 amp (180W x 2 @ 4 Ohms RMS) recently took a turn for the worst, which was pushing 2 Kicker 10" comp (10c104) 150w RMS subs. I noticed one channel would die out as i turned up the volume. Switched speakers and noticed it would do the same on the other speaker.
I then took the amp apart and nothing on circuit board seemed lose or overheated. Any suggestions for an amp that will match my speakers properly? Would prefer to pay $150 or less but no more than $200.

Either one of those Alpines is an excellent choice.

I've had nothing but good experiences with them.

You could drill a hole.

Alternatively, just wire the one sub straight up to its terminal. Then connect the other sub straight up to its terminal. Connect one terminal to the amp, then from that terminal, run the positive and negative to the other. Does that make sense? I can draw a picture if it doesn't :lawl:

Yeah, I had thought of running the wires externally. Just never seen that done before, but I like the smaller size of a mono, compared to bulky 2 channels. Thanks for you help.
