im thinking about lowering my car soon but im on a huge budget being a college student..no job...with basicaly no income but for future reference i decided might as well ask now.

I want to lower my car not to much under 2" for sure..i just use my car for commuting so my question is on my very low budget would the best thing i could afford be just buying lowering springs? I know ebay is not the best place but are these lexani ones ok? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...0423141927&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK:MEWAX:IT it's drop will be 1.8"....is there anything else i would need? i have the money for the springs but dont have money for installation yet.

Sorry if i sound stupid being a female :hide: with no one really to share my interest in cars i just have no knowledge on suspension. Any input will be very appriciated! Thanks guys!

whats the max $ your willing to spend?

for just springs around $100 ish or lower (lowest price as possible) thats why im wondering if just getting lowering springs will be ok..but I dont want to get the cheap ebay no name brand ones..since i dont know how to install them im probably going to pay someone to do it.

You might like the drop but the ride comfort will not be pleasant. I know from past experience for going cheap. My best bet is to wait it out until someone here on this forum sells their set of good brand name springs. I myself have Eibach Sportlines with 2' drop all around and they ride just like OEM minus the 4x4 look.

those might be a good idea..i dont mind the boat look since the front sits a little higher less chance of scraping or hitting things

yeah i might just wait for someone to sell their springs..i just want the car lowered because it looks better not really caring about the performance if its like oem ill still be happy with it. I use to drive a hatch that was lowered when i bought it but i think all they did was cut the stock springs but i didnt think the ride was bad. If actual lowering springs are better then cut stock ones then ride comfort dont think will bother me...i just might not notice the difference lol

Actual lowering springs are always better than cut springs.
Cut springs are FTL and rice!!
Take your time and save up for some nice springs.

youre going to need shocks to go along with the springs. its the reason i havent lowered mine yet. rather than those ebay ones i would go for tein or eibach. you can get those new for around 200. im in college as well and know the feeling of having no money for the car lol

If I were you, I'd try to find someone who can help with the install. It's really not very hard if you study the DIY's and you'll save a lot of money.

 or better yet... if you're a female that wants a drop, you could probably get a guy to do it for you haha
