Hey guys, I was wondering what would be the lowest/safest go on our stock struts? I was looking at reviews for lowering springs like H&R Sports and Teins and people have been running stock struts for years. Id just like to know yalls opinion or personal experience. Any feedback is appreciated!

You won’t be happy with dropping on stock shocks, in time you will want to go lower. When I joined I was a guy that thought I’d be fine with 1.5” Pro Kit springs forever, I really wasn’t interested in going lower than that. But in time what everyone told me proved right. Save your money for a decent setup that’s more flexible, and just do it right the first time. You will save yourself time and money in the long run.

But…if you are set on this, at least get springs that have a bigger drop in front than in rear. If you don't, you will get “the boat look”, and then you’ll be annoyed you have to sell springs you just bought, and buy new ones. I wouldn’t go lower than 1” on stock shocks either, but I’m not sure any springs come in less than that. I think I’ve seen ones that are 1.2”F/.75”R or something. But honestly that will barely make a difference, and at that point it won’t be worth the cost unless you find them cheap.

1.5" aka eibach prokits

I agree. Do it right the first time. I had Tanabe lowering springs on my stock shocks when i first got my car. I was happy for a few weeks....then i wanted to go lower....so now i use my coilovers in the summer, and the stock shocks + lowering springs for winter.

Struts have a life expectancy of about 50k so most likely they need to be replaced any way
So just get new struts when you get your springs or sleeves. You will be much happier with new struts then with the stock struts.

Well in that case I may just get coils. F&F Type Is are good value and are nearly the same price after I buy springs AND struts. Time to get some more cash in the coffers! Thanks guys
