I doubt a good search could find an answer to a question like this but, I have the OEM trunk wing on my car now, and I keep looking at more and more pictures of coupes with the roof/trunk lip combo which is really appealing to me. But if I take off the trunk wing, holes in the trunk will be exposed and it will rust. So my question is, if I get the M3 style trunk lip, will it cover the holes left from the wing so the trunk doesn't rust?

no.

you should be able to tell by looking at it... your oem spoiler will leave mounting holes a couple inches back from the edge, the M3 wing is very small/subtle and only sits on the edge of the trunk lid.

best bet is go to a junk yard close by and try to get a lid for cheap.

Find a wingless trunk at a yard or Ebay, or remove the spoiler, weld/grind the holes and paint.

They also have plugs for the holes you can buy but it's pretty ugly

I disagree
