So I have a little bit of a defect in my climate control backing and wanted to see what the best option is to fix this or just replace it. If replacement is what's needed then please point me in the right direction.

Here's a pic so you know what I am talking about.

Auto climate control dial numbers

I have something similar.

It's not a defect it's wear :lawl:

Probable have to change the trim around it. Or buy a new (used) climate control unit.

Re: Auto climate control dial numbers

ouch... almost painful to look at. honestly I would try to find one at a junkyard.. i wouldn't think it would cost that much (after you take off the bezel its a pretty small piece). the junkyards I have been to, if they don't have the part listed in the inventory, they make up a fairly cheap price, they'll look at it see that it is a little bit bigger than a brick, and see that it is electronic, and price it (maybe 12 bucks)

If you can't do that I don't know the best option. with any remedy, you're going to want to consider the illumination at night. ie: one coat of paint would look bad. Maybe you could find some matte black contact paper, pull of the knobs, trace the hole and the outside radius, and cut out one for each side (you loose the info displayed, but it might not look too bad)

With that wear I'd replace the face portion. Snag one from a junkyard or Ebay.

Thanks guys.
You can still see the numbers fine. I took the shot with it in the light and it doesnt show the numbers ,but they are there. It just bothers me that it's rubbed to hell.

See it's just a little bit glossy between the fan 1-2 but nothin on the temp side.
I forgot if there is just a faceplate or if its all connected through the whole unit.

I will see if eBay or maybe I can find a broken one from someone on here. 99 sedan auto control or if you got one 98-00.

Mikey I am not sure what you are referring to other than the diagram.

I also looked at that before but it looks like it comes with the buttons or #5
It's kind of weird.

Yes, #5. How much is it? If it's not too much, get it and see. Looks to me like it's a couple of smaller buttons and the numbered surrounds that you need.
