So i just picked up an MDX steering wheel in mint condition. The guy said that when he bought the car, the dealer upgraded him to woodgrain and stored the originial black steering wheel away. So i got it, plus he also gave me the shift knob(Mint too), which the dealer also upgraded. Question is, will the knob fit our cars?..

Is there a button on that knob anywhere to push inward? If not, it won't work.

So you got two steering wheels and a shift knob?

Oh the way it read, sounded like you got both. Anyway, yeah the button on your 6GA auto shifter, along with the brake, is what allows you to move the lever between certain gears. To use the MDX knob, you would need to use a 2G TL/CL auto shift assembly (2G TL/CL auto shift knobs had no buttons either).

OP, there is a DIY on here and on V6P as well about installing the Prelude/2G TL shift assembly.

Doesn't take long to do.
