Okay, get to my car tonight and while wiping off snow I realize my one sylvania silver bulb is burnt out, thats my THIRD since last summer. I drove a 97 Saturn with silverstars before my Accord and they lasted over 2 years and I even kept them on when I sold it. I like silverstar's brightness, clarity, very slight blue color, and output. I even know a few buddies with silverstars on their vehicles and they don't have issues. I just don't understand why silverstars suck so bad on Accords lol

Guess I'll just replace the burnt silverstar with a new one then save up for an HID kit :hide:

Silverstars are way too expensive for a halogen bulb anyways. HID kits are not that much more expensive.

I used to have them on my accord two. The reason they are going out is because your touching the bulb when you install it. You can't get any finger oil on the headlight bulb, or it will cause the bulb to get hot and burn out pre-mature. I bough HID's after I got sick of these things....use gloves when installing any headlights. HID's, silverstars or anything else. U dont want oil on the glass.

I always knew that and I don't touch the bulb itself when I replace any exterior light. I guess Silverstars just simply suck... What kinda life expectancy do HID lights have? I basically don't know **** about them =/

HIDs from DDM Tuning have a lifetime warranty.

from my research, silverstars seem to blow out real quick... trust, your not the first to make a thread about them failing so much

a quality HID bulbs should last around 2500+ hrs if not more than halogen bulbs and they draw less current as well.... i duno what the HID kits go for these days, but i got mine wayyyy back around 4+years ago for like $230
im sure you get them for much much cheaper now though

I used to sell silverstars but honestly I wouldnt put them in my own car.

I dunno what bulbs the accord takes but in integras its common to do a 9005 Retrofit
integra High = 9005
Low=9006

Basically a high beam bulb in the low beam socket.
Just file the tabs to match and Voila

HID > *.*

but still cant beat having twice the lumens for the same cost as a stock bulb

Good luck PM me with questions

EDIT

Just checked Accords are the same 9005 high and 9006 low
So as long as the housings can handle the extra heat your golden.
