Don't worry, I didn't know Obama was elected president....LOL
Just kidding
Considering the circumstances and the options.
It's not the fact that he landed i nthe Hudson, but the fact of him landing with no casualities and the plane staying afloat for enough time for people to be rescued.
He could have put the plane nose first into the river and probably drowned everyone
okay not to rain on everyone's parade but this is what they train for, it was the optimal landing situation for a water landing. the pilot is half the reason for the lack of casualties as if it wasn't for great flight crew i'm doubt everyone would have gotten off so safely.
fact is: everything about this landing was in the favor of the pilot and the flight crew
Yea, and the pilot was an extremely well trained glider pilot as well, so he knew exactly how to control it, and with his many years of training and experience, he put it down without cartwheeling it. The flight crew reacted perfectly and saved the lives of every single passenger on board.
Probably one of the most noteable crashes of the 21st Century, not too many people can say they crashed and lived to tell about it. The pilots were definately hero's that day. Worst casualty was someone with a pair of broken legs.
